MINDVISION SHIPS INSTALLER VISE 3.6 FOR WINDOWS

LINCOLN, NEB. - April 3, 2003: MindVision Software today announced the immediate availability of Installer VISE(tm) 3.6 for Windows. Installers built with this latest version can check for Windows XP as part of their system requirements.

ABOUT THIS RELEASE

For this release, Installer VISE has been updated to allow installers to check for Windows XP before installing files or executing action items.

Other changes in version 3.6 include:

DirectX 9 (and beyond) check
The DirectX Check action will recognize current and future DirectX releases. This action item checks for DirectX and returns a value that indicates the version installed. For a current listing of these values, visit http://www.mindvision.com/Support/DirectXCheck.html.

Easy installer automation
Installer VISE now offers record and playback functionality. Customers who need to install your software to multiple machines can simply run the installer once and record their selections. The recorded settings can then be played back on other machines in silent installs (without user intervention).

Monitor installer progress
Applications can now launch one or more installers and monitor their progress through messages sent by the installers. This feature can be used in conjunction with the new playback functionality.

More registry write options
Installer VISE can now write strings of type REG_MULTI_SZ and REG_EXPAND_SZ to the registry.

Installer VISE registration changes
When purchasing or renewing your subscription for Installer VISE 3.6, you will need to activate the software. Your copy of Installer VISE will have full functionality only on the machine you used to activate it. See the Availability section below for more information.

When installed and launched, Installer VISE 3.6 will have different functionality depending on the status of your subscription:

If your subscription is current, Installer VISE will automatically use your existing serial number and activate itself on your computer.
If you need to purchase or renew your subscription, there will be two places within Installer VISE where you can initiate an online purchase: the Tools menu and the About Installer VISE window.
