LINCOLN, NEB. - April 5, 2001: MindVision Software today ships Installer VISE^TM 7.2, an update to the popular Mac OS X installer. This version supports installs on the new Mac OS X release and is available for download at http://www.mindvision.com/downloads.html.

WHAT'S NEW IN VERSION 7.2

Access privileges authentication
When an install requires special access privileges, Installer VISE can prompt the user for user name and password, and authenticate that information before proceeding.

Uses Mac OS X install locations
In the multi-user environment of Mac OS X, the domain where you install an item defines how accessible that item will be. To help you control accessibility, Installer VISE makes it easy to set Mac OS X domain and install location for each item you install.

Extended updater support
Updater files included in Carbon or Unified installers will now run on Mac OS X.

Force restarts from Mac OS X
When appropriate, Installer VISE installers can force a system restart from Mac OS X.

Execute UNIX scripts from the installer
With its UNIX foundation, Mac OS X opens the door for many existing UNIX applications to transfer to the Macintosh platform. To capitalize on this opportunity, Installer VISE 7.2 can execute UNIX scripts from the installer.

Self-updating web installers
When your customer launches a web installer that differs from the server version, a new installer is downloaded. This allows you to update your installer code, in addition to the products it delivers.

Easier installer creation and modification
Arranging items in your Installer VISE archives is now easier than ever. Just shift-click on multiple items and drag them to a new location.

Integrated e-commerce support
