Installer Actions

With a new FileStorm Installer selected in the project window, show the Property Inspector. In the Property Inspector, click the popmenu just below the installer icon and select Actions. This will bring up a window like the one below.

From this window you can build a list of actions, which the completed FileStorm Installer will perform in consecutive order. The options are:

• Install Item
• Display Graphic
• Display Read Me
• Display License
• Display HTML
• Display Movie
• Execute Script
• Support Item

To add an action item, do one of the following:

• Click the Add button. Then use the Add dialog to make your selection.
• Drag and drop files or folders into the Action List/Action Type area at the bottom of the Property Inspector window.

When you have finished adding actions, you may select and drag them up or down in the list to change the order of execution.

To set the action item type:

1. Click the action type listed for the item, which by default will always be Install Item.
2. With the desired action highlighted, either click on it or press Return.

FileStorm performs some simple error checking to ensure that action items are valid and will successfully execute. As a result, a warning icon will display to the right of the Action Type column in the following instances:

• A path to an action item's source file or folder cannot be resolved.
• The action type of a folder is set to anything other than Install Item or Support Item.
• The action item does not support the source file extension or file type.
